True to their name, handcrafted log houses are built the way our ancestors built their houses centuries ago. They first select the right tree, fell it and then cut it into the appropriate size and shape. Such log houses therefore retain the distinct characteristics of the tree or trees they were made out of. Many people prefer this and instead of paint use polish to retain the look. On the other hand, milled log houses are the brain child of the industrial era and are made of wooden planks that are of equal size and shape.
