Real estate commission discount insights
The growth in online real estate listings has spurred the invention of nontraditional ways of doing business in the real estate industry. Brokers are doing less work for their real estate commissions as more people rely on the power of the Internet to buy and sell homes. As a result, some Multiple Listing Service real estate agencies have begun offering flat fee listing services to sellers, in which they function primarily as points of contact for the sellers and their prospective buyers. Buyers are beginning to realize that, in reality, they are doing part of the brokers work by locating their homes themselves and believe they have earned a rebate on the real estate commission. Just as with flat fee services, some brokers shy away from connecting their clients to buyers operating on their own.
